War in Ukraine, forced migration and integration of Ukrainians

The University of Milano-Bicocca jointly with the Gran Sasso Science Institute have launched a project about labour market outcomes and the integration of Ukrainians who live in Italy. For the aims of the project, an online survey has been launched.

Adult Ukrainian citizens (18 years old or more) currently residing in Italy who (i) fled from Ukraine after 24.02.2022, or (ii) lived in Italy as of 23.02.2022 can take part in the survey. The survey (in Ukrainian) is available here.

RCEA-Europe International Conference on Global Threats to the World Economy, 2-3 February 2023

CefES is supporting the RCEA-Europe International Conference on Global Threats to the World Economy, an online crowdfunding conference to support Ukrainian students.

The conference's revenue will finance scholarships for Ukrainian students to enroll in the MSc programs in International Economics or Global Management at the University of Milano-Bicocca or similar programs at other European universities. Co-funding is a requirement for suitable institutions to compete for the allocation of the RCEA-Europe scholarships. Scholarships are awarded in collaboration with the Ukrainian Global University initiative at the Kyiv School of Economics.

Visiting opportunities for war refugee Ukrainian researchers (SUSPENDED)

Within the ScienceForUkraine and UkrainianGlobalUniversity support initiatives:

CefES is funding one 6-month visiting research position (€ 18.000,00 gross) or two 3-month visiting research positions (€ 9.000,00 gross) for war refugee Ukrainian doctoral students or post-doctoral researchers and faculty members. While the primary fields of interest are Economics and Political Economy, other areas in Social Sciences and Law will also be considered. Please, contact cefes@unimib.it for further information.

The University of Milano-Bicocca is funding ten 3-month visiting research positions (€ 9.000,00 gross) for war refugee Ukrainian post-doctoral researchers and faculty members. All scientific fields will be considered. Please, contact cefes@unimib.it for further information.

Free accommodation through the Refugees Welcome organization (https://refugees-welcome.it/) might also be available and assessed case-by-case.

Scholarships for war refugee Ukrainian students (SUSPENDED)

Within the ScienceForUkraine and UkrainianGlobalUniversity support initiatives:

The University of Milano-Bicocca is funding up to ten undergraduate, and master's studies scholarships at the University of Milano-Bicocca in its international degrees taught in English. Prospective students should have been residents in Ukraine before 15th February 2022. They must hold a secondary school degree to enroll in a three-year undergraduate program or an undergraduate degree for a two-year master's program. The scholarships cover accommodation and subsistence expenses, tuition fees, and a monthly cash allowance. The overall worth of the scholarship is € 9.625,00 gross per year. Renewals to second and third years are conditional on general performance standards. Please, contact cefes@unimib.it for further information.

The Doctoral School of the University of Milano-Bicocca is funding up to nine Ph.D. scholarships at the University of Milano-Bicocca in its international degrees taught in English: Economics, Statistics and Data Science, Informatics, Education in Contemporary Society, Physics and Astronomy, Legal Sciences, Material Sciences and Nanotechnologies, Chemical, Geological, and Environmental Sciences, Psychology, Linguistics, and Cognitive Neuroscience, Urban Studies. Prospective students must have been residents in Ukraine before 15th February 2022. However, Ukrainian students not fulfilling the previous requirement are welcome to apply as standard candidates to the various funded positions, following the same procedure for prospective international students.
