Interview with Professor Valeria Gattai in the newspaper “LaVoce.info”

LaVoce.info interviews Professor Valeria Gattai about her recent research on the post-Covid behaviour of Italian companies.

Two hundred Lombard manufacturers were examined. The results showed the importance of supply relationships. Domestic outsourcing is the most popular supply strategy. Although companies are not afraid of buying inputs from independent suppliers, they prefer locally produced inputs rather than imported ones.

It appears that little will change in the boundaries of the firm after the Covid-19 pandemic: value chains will survive the pandemic, but they will be less global.
