| Child penalty in working conditions |
Principal Investigator
Abstract:
This project examines how the arrival of a child affects workers’ job trajectories and working conditions. Combining longitudinal survey data (Understanding Society) with job characteristics from external sources (EWCS and O-NET), it applies an event-study framework. The analysis goes beyond employment and hours to study changes in job quality, including autonomy, physical demands, and task discretion. It focuses on identifying gender differences in these post-parenthood trajectories.
