Abstract:
The project proposes a new measure of firm-level innovation based on information extracted from corporate websites. By combining balance sheet data with web-scraped textual and structural features, it applies Machine Learning techniques to identify patterns of innovativeness among Italian SMEs. The web-based indicators are then benchmarked against traditional measures to evaluate their effectiveness.
