The project studies how innovation affects productivity in the euro area using a DSGE model with endogenous technological change. It distinguishes between frontier innovation and the probability of successful adoption, driven by spillover and difficulty shocks. The model is estimated with macro data and enriched using a patent-based measure of technological creativity.
