A political regime is internally sustainable if and only if its rules are self-enforcing, however they may or require external enforcement. Thus, political regimes may be classified according to the role played by enforcement agents. The aim of this research program is to study how citizens or external players interact with the sustainability of political regimes, determining a regime survival or overthrown.
