Workshop description
The conference aims to bring together economists and political scientists to contribute to a deeper understanding and informed debate about potential future pathways for Ukrainians in European countries.
Topics might include:
- Issues of migration patterns of Ukrainian refugees in European countries;
- Demographic impacts of the war in Ukraine;
- Labor market integration of Ukrainian refugees in host European countries;
- Policies designed to enhance the integration of Ukrainians in host European countries;
- Comparative analyses of Ukrainian refugees and refugees from other countries;
- Economic consequences of the Ukrainian conflict, including impacts on energy markets, inflation, global trade disruptions, and food security;
- Ukraine reconstruction: policies and evidence.

Submissions
Both empirical and theoretical papers will be considered.
The deadline for submission is January 15, 2025.
Notifications will be delivered by January 31, 2025.
Registration
Participation in the workshop is free of charge, but registration is required. Lunch and a coffee break are included upon registration.

Special issue
Authors of accepted papers will be invited to submit their work for publication, subject to successful peer review, in Research in Globalization (https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/research-in-globalization).
The deadline for submitting final manuscripts to the special issue is August 31, 2025.
